Open Call | Projects Sought for Dublin’s Day of Creativity for Children

Closing Date for Applications: 30 April

Dublin City Council is seeking expressions of interest from artists, creative and cultural venues in the city to work with the Council to present the city’s inaugural Cruinniú na nÓg, a day of creativity for children and young people on June 23rd 2018.

Cruinniú na nÓg is an initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme at the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and is presented in partnership with the Local Authorities and RTÉ. The focus for Dublin City Council’s Cruinniú na nÓg 2018 will be on activities taking place in the city’s suburbs, neighbourhoods and villages, enabling young people to access creativity where they live, in their communities, with their friends and family.

Dublin City Council, via its cultural initiative Dublin’s Culture Connects, is seeking expressions of interest from artists and makers across Dublin. We are looking for artists, dancers, storytellers, musicians and all manner of experienced creative professionals, in any medium or artform, with an interest in working with children/young people, to work with us on one of three things for this year’s Cruinniú na nÓg:

1. Presenting age-appropriate cultural work for children/young people to see on June 23;
2. Working with children/young people to make new artworks or cultural engagement processes in the weeks leading up to June 23;
3. Facilitating once-off creative workshops or activities on June 23 for children/young people to do.

There are two fee levels in this open call, up to €1,000 and up to €3,000.

It is envisaged that the up to €1,000 award is for an individual artist or maker to devise and deliver a child/youth-focused activity on 23rd June in Dublin.

It is envisaged that the up to €3,000 award is for a venue or a group of artists or makers to devise, develop and deliver a set of activities for children.
