Temple Bar Gallery + Studios’ Recent Graduate Residency is a professional development opportunity aimed at artists who have recently graduated from a fine art undergraduate programme. Now in its sixth year, the award offers a free studio at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios for one year. It also grants the awardee €1,500 stipend, €500 international travel bursary as well as other mentorship and curatorial supports provided by Temple Bar Gallery + Studios.
The purpose of the Recent Graduate Residency is to assist emerging artists to focus their studio practices at a crucial point in their early careers. It provides an opportunity for a recent graduate to develop their work in a highly-regarded city centre studio complex, participate with the creative community of TBG+S and with the professional artists, public audiences and supporters who engage with our organisation.
This opportunity is open to artists who have graduated from a BA/BFA course in any fine art discipline in any recognised university or third level institution in Ireland in the past three years, or, Irish artists who have graduated from a non-Irish BA/BFA in any fine art discipline in the past three years. Graduating classes of 2019, 2018 and 2017 are eligible to apply. The successful candidate will either be currently based in Ireland or intending to live and work in Ireland during the period of the award. The applications will be assessed internally at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios with external panel members.
