Open Call | Temporary Gallery Space at Cruthú Arts Festival, Longford

The Cruthú Arts Festival programme features a mix of visual art, street art, music, theatre, and literary events. The Temporary Gallery Space Competition has been an integral part to this festival from its inception, the festival is now in its fourth year. The festival is looking to incorporate a broad range of visual art forms, including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, and film.

Successful applicants will be allocated a shared venue free of charge with insurance covered by the festival for the duration of the festival. These pop-up spaces are located in vacant retail units situated throughout the town, which can be used to display existing works, house specially-designed installations, or be transformed into unique conceptual spaces.

While the festival will endeavour to facilitate as many artists as possible the spaces are limited. Submissions will be evaluated by The Cruthú Arts Festival Committee and the successful final selection will be contacted by email.

The festival takes place in Longford over four days, starting Thursday, July 27th, to Sunday, July 30th.

Please note:
It will be the artists’ responsibility to prepare their exhibition spaces and to clear the space afterwards, leaving them in good condition on the Monday following the festival. Cruthu will provide some labour, paint and materials to assist in bringing temporary spaces up to exhibition standard. Artists must be in attendance and invigilate their own exhibition during the festival. There is no artist fee paid to exhibiting artists. There is a 10% commission on all sales made during the exhibition. Food and refreshments are provided for artists for the duration of the festival.
