Painting Expedition: Plein Air Painting in Dublin’s Park’s with the National Gallery of Ireland
Join a facilitated plein air painting session for adults in Dublin’s public parks and gardens. During the summer months, Nathaniel Hone the Younger (1831-1917) would leave his studio to enjoy the sensation of painting outdoors. To celebrate our exhibition ‘Nathaniel Hone: Travels of a Landscape Artist’, now on display in Room 31, we have organised a series of plein air sessions over the summer months.
The first will take place on Saturday 12 May in our nearest park in Merrion Square. The group will meet first in our Millennium Wing Studio before heading across to the park for a painting session Meet in the National Gallery of Ireland, Millennium Wing Studio. The group will then move on to Merrion Square Park, weather permitting.
This is the first session of four. Further sessions, in different central Dublin parks, will take place during the summer on the following dates: Sunday 9 June | Sunday 14 July | Sunday 11 August
