In this three-day workshop we will be investigating different strategies in observational painting. We will examine how to plan and execute a painting in a natural and logical process, taking our paintings through systems of layer building over a period of days. Informed by our visible surroundings within the landscape and on still life at Artform studios, Aidan will work alongside participants in order to impart his experiences through demonstration and discussion.
Aspects such as surface and ground, subject and environment, measuring and scaling, palette and methods of paint application will be our main focus over this course.
