Luan Gallery will host an adult papercutting workshop with exhibiting artist Paul Bokslag on Wednesday 29th May from 3pm to 5pm. Participants of this workshop will learn how to make their own paper-cut art pieces, similar to the work on display in Luan gallery.
Paul Bokslag is one of three featured artists in Luan Gallery’s current exhibition Other Dimensions. His paper cutting installations can be seen in the Library Gallery at Luan Gallery. Paul is a Creative Associate with Helium Arts as part of its creative health hub in Limerick. He has previously facilitated many creative workshops and classes for different age groups and abilities. He is a co-founder of Kcat Arts Centre in Co. Kilkenny and a skilled artist who practices in a variety of different mediums. His paper cut installations have been exhibited in galleries such as Signals Arts Centre in Bray, Garter Lane Arts Centre in Waterford, Waterford Healing arts trust and Mount Shannon Arts Festival.
Join Paul in the therapeutic process of creating papercuts on Wednesday 29th May. Papercutting is an art form that has a long, rich history dating back to almost the same time paper was invented. Papercutting is also a great way for artists to practice their drawing skills, the permanent nature of the cuts on paper ensure one keeps a steady hand and a focused mind.
