Participle Notes and Art+Feminism Wikipedia Editing Event, Galway

4 March 2017, 11am to 4.30
Community Knowledge Initiative, Institute for Lifecourse and Society, NUI, Upper Newcastle Road, Galway

Participle Notes & Art+Feminism with the Community Knowledge Initiative.
ART+FEMINISM is a campaign to improve coverage of women and the arts on Wikipedia. Wikipedia’s content and community skews towards the male, creating significant gaps in an increasingly important repository of shared knowledge www.artandfeminism.org/

We invite you to address this absence by joining us in person, on 04 March 2017, from 11:00 – 16:30. for a communal updating of Wikipedia’s entries on contemporary art and feminism. If you have one, please bring your laptop.
Anyone and everyone with an interest in learning more about editing Wikipedia, regardless of experience, gender or background, is welcome to attend.

Participle Notes is a nomadic, biannual gathering of artists, academics and others with an interest in social practice and cultural production. We meet to present and discuss research and practice, and create a space for possible testing of ideas, plus a forum for debate around critical thinking and engagement.

We will be hosted by CKI: The Community Knowledge Initiative (CKI) fosters community university partnerships that aim to promote the principles and practices of civic engagement and democracy. CKI is located at the Institute foe Lifecourse and Society, Upper Newcastle Road, Galway cki.nuigalway.ie/
