Pochoir (Stencil) Printmaking with Coby Moore at Belfast Print Workshop

Pochoir is a form of monoprinting. Original, colourful prints are created using both stencils and shapes cut out of a matrix which consists of thin metal, card or plastic. These prints are collected for their detail and colours. They were first made during the Art Deco period and used widely in art, design and fashion. Picasso and Matisse both created Pochoir prints.

On this one day course you will make your own stencils to layer and create shapes to make prints using archival paper. Bring your ideas, drawings and photographs with you. You can also bring along pre-made, or hand-cut stencils. This course is for complete beginners or artists who want some space to experiment with something different for image making.
