This year will see a new feature: The Little Theatre – an area with presentations from leading experts in the day to day professional matters that effect us all as visual artists. See the timetable of talks below.
Speakers will include:
- 10.30 – Centre for Creative Practices
Monika Sapielak Director of CFCP will talk about their programme and supports services for migrant, experimental and emerging artists of all disciplines.
- 11.00 – Maurice Ward Art Handling
A talk about MWAH services to artists and advice on packaging and transporting work yourself.
- 11.30 – Rua Red South – Dublin Arts Centre
Rebecca Fitzpatrick will talk about RUA RED’s residency opportunities, studio spaces and Gallery programme.
- 12.00 – IMMA’s Residency
Janice Hough / Residency Co-ordinator will talk about the programme, facilities and supports available to artists undertaking residencies.
- 12.30 – Fire Stations Artists’ Studios
Fire Station Artists’ Studio staff will talk about: the residential studios; skills programme; sculpture workshop and digital media facilities for visual artists.
- 14.00 – Burren College of Art
Conor McGrady, Dean of Academic Affairs and Dr. Áine Phillips, Head of Sculpture will talk about Artists Engagement in a Rural Context and the Emerging Artist Residency opportunity.
- 14.30 – Arts Council of Ireland
The Arts Council’s Visual Arts Team will talk about funding available to individual visual artists and groups of artists.
- 15.00 – AxisWeb
Axisweb will lead a discussion on: presenting your practice online; how to develop an audience through social media.
- 15.30 – Arts Council of Northern Ireland
Deirdre Robb, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Development Officer will talk about SIAP and Travel awards.
- 16.00 – Design & Crafts Council of Ireland
Emer Ferran, Enterprise Development Programme Manager will talk about DCCoI programmes of interest to artists whose practices cross disciplines.
- 16.30 – Artclash
Áine Macken will discuss the opportunities for visual artists to work with ArtClash’s exciting programme of social art evenings.
These 20min talks will be given by organisations taking stands in the Common Room Café area. They aim to provide an opportunity for artists to pose questions as well as having the chance for a one to one chat in The Common Room Café.
