Learn about how to use openFrameworks and the Raspberry Pi, a cheap Linux computer, for gallery installation. The workshop will cover:
– the different kinds of Raspberry Pi, how to choose the right Pi for the job
– how to set up your Raspberry Pi as a high quality media player that will automatically boot up seamlessly loop all the videos presented to it on a USB stick
– how to install openFrameworks on the Pi and use computer vision to trigger a video playing in response to someone moving in a gallery space.
Experience of Arduino and Processing is recommended. Materials will be provided.
The workshop costs £40 for DAS or VAI members, and £60 standard rate.
