Submission deadline: Monday 12 June
Positive Ageing Month is a month long celebration of Belfast’s older people that will be taking place in October. It offers groups, venues and organisations an opportunity to showcase ongoing projects or programmes which might be of interest to older people. The festival is coordinated by the Age-Friendly Belfast team at Belfast City Council, and they will be running a number of bespoke events throughout the month. However, anyone can submit an event for Positive Ageing Month and we’ll include it in our brochure which is widely distributed throughout the city.
October might seem like a very long way away but Positive Ageing Month are already beginning to collate material for this year’s brochure and would love to include as many arts and community groups, venues, organisations and projects as possible. The Age-Friendly Belfast team coordinate Positive Ageing Month but they rely on all of you to get involved and use the festival as an opportunity to showcase some of the incredible projects, events and ongoing work with older people you’re already doing. At this stage Positive Ageing Month are just asking for an expression of interest from groups who’d like to get involved. There’s plenty of time to have a think about what you’d like to do in October. Positive Ageing Month get back in touch in the not too distant future to clarify details about your event and ensure it gets included in our brochure.
To find out more about getting involved and don’t hesitate to shoot Jan an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further questions.
Positive Ageing Month will be holding a short information and ideas development session in 9 Adelaide Street From 2:00-3:30 on Wednesday 7th June. Please email to let us know if you’d like to attend. We’d really encourage you to come along. Further free training will be made available to all participating organisations in the run up to October.
