Visual Artists Ireland operates a wide range of professional development training and events throughout the year including workshops, peer discussion groups, seminars, talks and our annual national day for the visual arts event ‘Get Together’. The delivery of this programme is greatly supported by our relationship with local and international visual art professionals and partner organisations throughout the island of Ireland. VAI works in partnership with Local Authorities, visual arts venues and others, combining resources to support the professional development of visual artists at regional level.
When you engage with VAI’s Life Long Learning services you are getting more than just one person. You are accessing the experience of an entire team who work on a daily basis with visual artists and arts organisations not only in Ireland but also across Europe. We draw on this network to ensure that all of our delivery is up to date with current best practices. In addition, something that is unique about our service is that our support doesn’t end when participants leave. We provide free help desk and advice services, supported by our online and print information and news provision. This is what makes us unique. We continue to offer access to trustworthy and timely help and information that supports them in their daily lives.
You can also find details of the VAI Professional Development Programme via the VAI Professional Development Group on Facebook. Professional Development training and events are regularly publicised through the VAI e-bulletin, here on the VAI web site and in The Visual Artists News Sheet.
