Seaweed Forage and Picnic with Marie Power of The Sea Gardener, Wexford
The workshop will consist of a guided walk by Marie Power of The Sea Gardener, along the shore of Baginbun Beach at low-tide highlighting a range of edible seaweeds and the ecology of the rocky shore. She will take you through the process of foraging the tastiest varieties and incorporating them into your cooking, to enjoy the distinctive taste and health benefits.
A small amount seaweed will be gathered and sampled as part of a picnic that will include a selection of other products, including smoothies, bread and soups that incorporate a small amount of seaweed in the recipe.
Marie Power is based in Waterford and runs regular foraging workshops for the general public along the Copper coast beaches – she has a diploma in field Ecology from UCC and is extremely mindful of foraging in a sustainable way and being mindful of her local environment when she delivers these workshops.
