Summer Workshops with Read That Image, Dublin

The summer has finally arrived and to celebrate we’re delighted to announce this season’s series of Stitching Sessions and Make a Photobook workshops! The RTI Summer Workshop Programme includes morning and afternoon bookbinding sessions and weekend-long photobook-making workshops, all taking place in the RTI studio in Dublin 8 between June and September 2018.

Stitching Sessions is a series of bookbinding workshops lead by members of Read That Image. During these workshops participants are introduced to the craft of bookbinding and learn about the different papers, materials and tools needed to create their own hand-bound books. Members of the RTI team guide participants step-by-step through various bookbinding techniques and workshop participants leave with their own unique handmade notebooks. The techniques taught can be used to create journals, notebooks, photobooks and zines. Suitable for beginners from artists to zinesters!

Make a Photobook workshops introduce participants to the art of photobook-making. Arriving with a collection of images, participants work collectively and individually with guidance from the RTI team, exploring each stage of the bookmaking process and design and hand-bind their own photobook dummies. To submit please send a selection of images from a body of work along with a brief project description to hello@readthatimage.org.
