Led by the artist Aoibheann Greenan, this intensive 10-week course is aimed towards school-leavers, mature students (i.e. applicants over the age of 23 years) and leaving-cert students who wish to study fine art at third level. The course will focus directly on the NCAD portfolio brief (deadline 10th of February 1017) but it will also satisfy the requirements of those targeting places in DIT, IADT, LIT and CCAD.
Aoibheann will facilitate group tutorials and offer personal guidance to each student. An emphasis will be placed on idea generation and development. Participants will learn how to cultivate a strong visual research practice by using notebooks and worksheets in order to better conceptualise their finished pieces. An adept draughtsman and sculptor, Aoibheann will also support the students in the practical application of their ideas towards the creation of 2D and 3D work in multiple media. In addition she will offer the students an insight into her own creative process and other artists that she considers relevant to their particular projects as the course evolves.
