A public lecture by Juliet Jacques, presented in conjunction with Curatorial Directions 2017. Juliet Jacques is a writer, critic and filmmaker. In this public talk, held as part of our Curatorial Directions programme, Juliet will discuss her approach to writing in relation to art, culture and the self.
Jacques’ fiction has appeared in Five Dials, The London Magazine, 3:AM, Necessary Fiction and elsewhere. Her Transgender Journey series for The Guardian documented her gender reassignment between 2010 -12 and was longlisted for the Orwell Prize in 2011. Her journalism and essays have featured in Granta, TimeOut, The Washington Post, The London Review of Books and other publications. Her book, Trans: A Memoir, was published by Verso in 2015, and was runner-up in the Polari LGBT First Book Award in 2016.
