Deadline: 27 January
Groundwork is looking for two Site Artists to participate in Groundwork 2017. Site Artists adopt the position of artist-in-research to consider ways of responding to the location, context, history and geography of Milton Keynes through the lens of their own performative and arts practices. Site Artists are invited to spend 10 days undertaking a research-intensive residency, which offers time and space to explore how the people of Milton Keynes live, work and play. Each appointed Site Artist will receive remuneration at a rate of £2050 for the residency period, with additional travel, accommodation and per diems to be provided.
The role of Site Artist is open to national and international artists with a site-specific or site-sensitive performance practice, and to those who have a keen interest in the relationship of heritage, site and urban contexts. The chosen Site Artists should demonstrate an awareness of the role and impact of working in the unique setting of Milton Keynes and express interest in developing a sustainable working relationship with Tracing the Pathway, Milton Keynes Arts Centre and the location of Milton Keynes.
For Groundwork 2017 we will appoint two Site Artists one of which will be in residence between:
Friday 5th – Saturday 13th May inclusive
and the second between:
Friday 19th – Saturday 20th May inclusive
In your application for the role please indicate which residency period is most preferable.
