Cork Printmakers is delighted to present the FIRST EDITION Print Symposium, a two day event featuring over twenty high calibre international and national speakers at Millennium Hall, Cork City Hall. The theme is Multiple Dimensions: Exploring Printmaking as an expanded practice in contemporary visual culture. It also includes a citywide trail of exhibitions and is presented as part of Cork Midsummer Festival.
Speakers include; Susan Tallman; Editor in Chief, Art in Print, Chicago, USA; Michael Kempson; Convenor of Printmaking Studies and Director of Cicada Press, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia; Dr. Angela Griffith, History of Art and Architecture Department, Trinity College, Dublin; Jason Urban and Leslie Mutchler, both of The University of Texas, USA, Jason co-founded award winning print website Printeresting; Dr. Carinna Parraman, Professor in Design and Colour Print, UWE, Bristol; Co-Director, Centre for Fine Print Research (IMPACT is the CFPR’s main Symposia); speakers from the main Print Studios around Ireland and many more.

A trail of exhibitions will accompany the Symposium, in six venues across Cork City Centre: CIT Wandesford Quay Gallery; Triskel Arts Centre; The Foyer, The Glucksman Gallery, UCC; The Foyer, CIT Crawford College of Art & Design; The Etching Room, Cork Printmakers and The Print Showroom, Cork Printmakers.
