With four Nobel prize winners in literature, Ireland’s worldwide creative reputation is well established. Today, you have the opportunity to preserve this unique literary past while celebrating contemporary writers and inspiring future creativity.
University College Dublin (UCD) and The National Library of Ireland (NLI) will create a landmark public venue, tracing Ireland’s incredible literary journey. The Ulysses Centre @ Newman House, on St Stephen’s Green, is a unique opportunity for public and scholarly engagement with the heritage and literature synonymous with Ireland.
The Director will oversee the founding phase, bring the project to launch in the autumn of 2018 and establish it in the Irish tourist and cultural landscape. You will lead the centre’s artistic, cultural, marketing and financial operations and create a sustainable business model for the future.
A track record in building, leading and sustaining innovative enterprises, with a deep commitment to arts and culture, is essential. This landmark initiative requires ambition, passion and vision along with high levels of public engagement.
Proven strategic leadership, communication and negotiation skills are essential, as is financial oversight and project & change management experience. Fundraising for arts/cultural initiatives, creating marketing campaigns and an in-depth knowledge of Ireland’s literary culture will ensure you are key to the centre’s success. Salary package: €100,000
