Temple Bar Gallery + Studios Announces Outcome of Open Call for Studios
Temple Bar Gallery + Studios announces recipients of Six Year Membership Studios, Three Year Membership Studios and ISCP (International Studio and Curatorial Program) Residency, New York
Six Year Membership Studios awarded to:
Gerard Byrne
Isabel Nolan
Three Year Membership Studios awarded to:
Niamh O’Malley
Sarah Pierce
Atoosa Pour Hosseini
Richard Proffitt
Alice Rekab
ISCP Residency awarded to:
Hannah Fitz
The awards were allocated through a rigorous selection process from a panel that included two international curators, Eoin Dara (Head of Exhibitions Dundee Contemporary Arts, Co-curator, Household Belfast) and Linsey Young (Curator of Contemporary British Art at Tate, Commissioner and Curator Scotland at Venice 2019), as well current Temple Bar Gallery + Studios artist members. The large number of applications received is indicative of the acute need of artists’ working spaces in Dublin at present and it was not possible to accommodate all of the artists who made high quality applications. However, the panel is also an opportunity for Temple Bar Gallery + Studios to study artists’ practices in detail and to open discussion around the work of Irish artists to an international perspective.
