“Darkly ridiculous, necessarily villainous at times, compulsive, inventive, littered with improvised philosophy… And a weeny bit of truth…”
Introducing new works in Lithography, Etching and Monoprint by established makers Helen Paisley and Karen Daye-Hutchinson from the Belfast Print Workshop. The resulting works showcase a myriad of hybrid printmaking – inconsistent in scale and unconventional in narrative. Parenthesis showcases traditional printmaking plagued with literature—poetry in particular—as with the visual precedents set by other artists. Our aim was to create skillfully crafted pieces of work – with a clear, accessible concept, aspiring to honesty in art.
Currently the works accumulate some 30 framed pieces (96 x 77cm) 3 large scale monoprints (150 x 75cm each) as well as a selection of artist books. This can be pared down to accommodate smaller spaces, we also hold a full range of advertising documents which, once again can be altered to include the gallery details.
All the works in this exhibition have been fully editioned and are available for sale, commission accepted – and so the running costs solely account for the shipping of works – and the opening night. Where possible, both artists are keen to assist in any way to keep these to a minimum.
Should you be interested and require locale shots of the exhibition, or any more information please contact Helen – firstname.lastname@example.org or 07757666561, this exhibition will be available from the 1st of September 2013.
