Update on eBulletin

As you will know from previous messages, our eBulletin provider is phasing out their software service.  It has been quite a battle trying to find software that can deal with all of the listings that we receive on a weekly basis.  We have done a parallel run with the old and the new systems.  We are speaking  with the new software’s developers to find the solution to one or two tiny issues that we hope to resolve. In the meantime, we are aware that you will be receiving some old information as well as new.  This will only continue as the system gets up to date with our content.  Truly we wish that we could have it otherwise, but with the amount of notifications, jobs, money making opportunities etc that we provide, we want to make sure that you don’t miss out.

The formats remain the same. The Jobs & Ops ebulletin and the Exhibitions and Events ebulletins will both have News at the top, and then the Listings.  We receive over 200 mails per week with listings which means that we are continuously trying to find a way that makes sense to bring you all of the information.  We believe that this new format is very clear, but the Table of Contents is one thing that few of the systems that we have looked at can deliver.  We will continue to work on bringing that back, but we felt that it is more important that we bring you a stable system very quickly.

As always, the warmest of greetings from all of us in VAI.

Oh, and before we forget, you should have received your invitation to our new office opening.  Nope, we’re not leaving Dublin, but we are opening our first office outside of Dublin which will be dedicated to our delivery in Northern Ireland. So, please join us on Friday, 3rd July between 1pm and 3pm on the First Floor, 109 – 113 Royal Avenue, Belfast, BT1 1FF to celebrate this event.  If you are travelling to Belfast, then First Thursday is the evening before. This means galleries will be open late.  We timed our opening for lunchtime so as to allow people to come on the day and also get a chance to see the vibrancy of Belfast.  Keep an eye out for the announcement of Belfast Open Studios later this year… another chance to see inside the studios and meet fellow artists as well as other supporting events.
