Have you previously undertaken Child Protection Training? If not, then this is the session will provide you with certified basic Child Protection Training through the National Youth Council of Ireland’s (NYCI) Children First Programme.   Places as a priority for artists from County Clare.

The session is aimed at artists who work with Children and Young People through a range of media including visual arts, music, literature, dance, theater and film. In particular of interest for artists working in schools but also other contexts such as workshops in Libraries and community settings; public art projects that involve engagement with Children and Young People. It will be especially relevant to those interested in working through the Artist in the Schools Programme in County Clare.

The information session is delivered through tutor input and group discussion and covers recent changes in Child Protection Legislation and Policy and work through scenarios and questions you may have regarding your work with Children and Young People.

Tom Kent is Director of Programmes with YMCA Ireland. Tom began his career in the Tourism Industry and went on to join YMCA Ireland in 2006. He has extensive experience in training & development and managing quality control systems. His primary role is running the YMCA STEP programme across 5 centres in the Republic of Ireland.
