Urban Sketching Workshop, Galway City
13 to 15 July 2017, 9am to 5.30pm daily | Cost: €300
Join Urban Sketching instructors Inma Serrano, Miguel Herranz and Róisín Curé on the Atlantic Coast of Ireland this summer for a three-day workshop in Galway, one of Ireland’s liveliest cities.
Inma Serrano is a well-known urban sketcher, teacher and illustrator from Seville; Miguel Serrano is an author, teacher and urban sketcher from Barcelona; Róisín Curé, Ireland’s only invited correspondent with the urbansketchers.org website, is a teacher, urban sketcher and illustrator from Galway.
All you need is a watercolour sketchbook, a box of watercolour half-pans, a couple of pens and brushes…and a fascination with the life we see around us.
We will share our approach to urban sketching with you: seeing our scene as a stage, the passers-by as the dramatis personae and the whole as a drama. Pick up tips of lighting, sketch-portraits and letting the images tell the story from these three enthusiastic artists. Your level of experience is irrelevant as our tips are applicable to everyone. The evenings will be convivial, as we get to know each other and Galway’s nightlife, relaxing together at the end of each busy day. Only 30 places in all ensures lots of individual attention.
