Visual Artists Ireland is very pleased to host a Portfolio Review Day for visual aritsts with curators Leah Stuhltrager & Nadim Samman. This event is free to Members of Visual Artists Ireland
As part of their visit for the Belfast Open Studios event Leah and Nadim are interested in meeting with and seeing artists work when they visit Dublin.
Interested artists should apply here on line to be considered for a meeting with the curators. Please note that a selection process will take place and that Leah and Nadim will select artists based on the information you provide below. Leah Stuhltrager is known as an Art – Technology consultant, curator and project manager. Career highlights include projects at Lincoln Center, Coachella, E-Halle, Contemporary Istanbul, Circulo de Bellas Artes, Hermitage Museum, Oriental Pearl Tower, Cà Foscari Zattere / Venice Biennale, Cyberfest, Art Meets Tech, sister city event “Berlin x Tokyo”? at Roppongi Hills, Asia Pacific Week for the German Senate and initiatives building industry bridges between America, Europe & Asia.
Starting Dam Stuhltrager in Williamsburg Brooklyn in 1998 and a Berlin annex in 2009 – Stuhltrager became THE WYE in 2012. As Founder and CEO of THE WYE, Stuhltrager has overseen multidisciplinary Art & Tech programming including: Seedcamp; BOB/Tech Crunch Europe VIP Party; German premiere of Oscar nominated “Act of Killing” with Berlin Film Society; The Reader Awards, German Senate’s Innovation Conference by Projekt Zunkunft; Raindance, Tech Open Air; Photo Berlin; Service Design Berlin Conference; Hardware Berlin Conference; NYC Media Center (Bloomberg); Berlin Burlesque; Sound Development City; Internet of Things; NPR Auction; Retune and the Berlin-Tokyo Project among many more. Beyond programming, Stuhltrager developed public innovation projects with Lexus, American Embassy, Cyland Media Lab, Platoon, Recruit Technologies and Computerspielemuseum as well as others. Named one of Berlin’s influential “Movers & Shakers” by ExBerliner Magazine and a top one to watch by Artslant, Stuhltrager often sits on juries, panels and advises on Innovation, Internationalization and New Media. Stuhltrager co-developed and serves as Editor-in-chief of AHEAD Magazine – a quarterly, full color publication distributed with the Sunday edition of Germany’s prestigious FAZ newspaper and powered by TEDxBerlin. Nadim Julien Samman read Philosophy at University College London before completing a doctorate in art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art. In 2012 he curated the 4th Marrakech Biennale with Carson Chan. Projects in 2014 include Antarctopia: The Antarctic Pavilion, 14th Venice Biennale of Architecture, and Treasure of Lima: A Buried Exhibition – a unique site-specific exhibition on the remote Pacific island of Isla del Coco. Nadim is Co-Director of Import Projects, Editor of Near East Magazine and Curator at Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary.
