VAI Workshop | Learn How to Photograph Your Art, 14 September
In this workshop with Tim Durham you will learn how to take high quality photos of your work to give the best first impression of your art and your professionalism.
When artists are required to submit work digitally for exhibitions, grants, talks and when updating your website, do justice to your work and represent it accurately.
Too often artists submit images that are shot in dimly lit, sloppy environments that distort the original artwork. If the photo is too small or out of focus, or if there are problems with color, lighting or shadows, then you are not showing a true representation of your work. Your piece will appear poorly constructed, the colors will be misrepresented – you may as well be showing a picture of somebody else’s artwork.
This workshop will assist you in a methodical step-by-step process to obtain the best possible results with your digital compact camera or digital SLR.
The course will cover framing, exposure, ISO, white balance, apertures, depth of field, jpg and raw quality, resolution of images, tripod use and much more.
