Volunteers Wanted for Cycling Event as Part of Bealtaine – 17 May
Volunteers are invited to join Strength in Numbers – An Intergenerational Bicycle Gang to help steward a performative cycle on 17th May in the Docklands.
Meeting Point: Grand Canal Square, 2 – 4 pm
Strength in Numbers – An Intergenerational Bicycle Gang is a community engagement project with the aim of forming a bicycle gang called The Bee Bandits. Over the past months, this dedicated group has been developing a unique look – designing gang jackets, exploring gang tactics, and cultivating notoriety.
On 17th May, cyclists are invited to take part into this performative cycle running from 2 to 4 pm in the Docklands.
Volunteers are required to be regular cyclists and to have a bike they can bring on the day of the event.
Please contact juliamoustacchi@gmail.com to volunteer for this project before Monday 13th May.
Another event will take place on June 26th as part of Velo-CIty International Conference Cycling Parade; we are inviting volunteers who want to steward this project to help with this event as well if they are available (4-6pm).
This work is commissioned by Michelle Browne as part of The Citizen Cycle series of participative arts commissions produced to coincide with the Velo-City International Cycling Conference in June and is funded by The Arts Council, Watershed’s Creative Producers International Investment Fund, Dublin City Council, Cycling Ireland and Age & Opportunity (through EIT Health and TCD’s MoveAGE).
