Walking Tour from The Hugh Lane to the RHA in association with Gays About Town

Saturday 15 September, 12 to 2pm.

Framed by Doireann O’Malley’s Prototypes at Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane and the Royal Hibernian Academy’s Amanda Dunsmore Becoming Christine exhibitions, join in a walking tour that takes in both exhibitions which deal with gender transition, and a whistlestop introduction to different sites between the galleries that illustrate queer history in Dublin city. We will go from 1916, to St. Patrick, to gay marriage, adding another layer to our understanding of Irish history.

Participants are encouraged to arrive early to The Hugh Lane, so that they can view the video work in Prototypes before the tour begins.

The tour will begin at Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane and booking is necessary.

Participants are advised to wear comfortable footwear and dress for the Irish weather.
