Description

Cork County Council is seeking proposals from visual artists or artist teams for a permanent outdoor mural / artwork at the pedestrian bridge to the Harper’s Island Wetlands located in Glounthaune Co. Cork.

Proposals should be for a durable mural type artwork that is both inspired by and sensitive to this unique location.  The artwork design should seek to engage all ages and abilities.

Glounthaune Community Association and the Cork branch of BirdWatch Ireland are partners in the management of the wetlands.  Artists as part of their application are asked to consider a programme of meaningful community engagement for children and adults to form part of the commission.

Site Visit:
Artists may wish to register to attend an informal site visit Monday 18th August 11am. This will include a tour of the site and an opportunity to meet with members of the project team.  Please register interest by emailing arts@corkcoco.ie with the subject line ‘Harper’s Island’.
