Niamh Brown (Ormston House, Limerick)
Niamh is a curator at Ormston House, Limerick. Ormston House is a meeting place for the arts in the heart of Limerick City. The three pillars of our programme are artistic ambition, professional development and public/community engagement. Our core question is: How can we support artists better?
Recent and ongoing projects include “The Feminist Supermarket” co-curated with Mary Conlon; “With time and straw, the medlars ripen” a solo presentation of work by Niamh Porter at Juxtapose Art Fair, Aarhus, Denmark; and the Creative Europe project “Artist-Run Network Europe”.
Outside of Ormston House, Niamh is the Creative Producer of EVA International and she sits on the Board of the National Collective of Community Based Women’s Networks.
Curator’s Areas of Interest:
Current curatorial interests explore connections between landscape, mythology and data infrastructure through the project “Portals”. Other interests explore conversations around intersectional feminist practices through the project “The Feminist Supermarket”.
Through the Creative Europe project “Artist-Run Network Europe”, Niamh is leading on research on the social impact and value of the artist-run sector. She is committed to commissioning artists to produce new work and introducing their practices to international audiences.
