Open Call | Public Arts Commission for sound-based projects from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is inviting proposals from individual artists or collectives for two sound-based art commissions in Ballyogan, linked to the new Ballyogan Library at the Samuel Beckett Civic Campus.
Each commission offers a budget of €11,000 and should focus on one of two themes and audiences:
- Exploring memories and histories of Ballyogan over the years with older/retired people living locally.
- Exploring future visions of Ballyogan and the library of the future with young people (aged 12-18).
Artists will engage with audiences to create temporary sound artworks that explore the story of Ballyogan, the fastest growing area in the county with a young and culturally diverse population.
Applications must be made through dlrcoco.submit.com.
The deadline for applications is Monday 13 October at 2pm.
Site visit: We will host a site visit at Ballyogan Library on Tuesday 16 September at 12:30pm. Artists interested in attending should email arts@dlrcoco.ie with the subject line ‘Ballyogan Library commission’ to reserve your place.
