Tom McLean | Independent
Tom McLean is an independent curator, artist and cultural producer based in Galway. Over the past decade, he has developed and delivered exhibitions, artist development programmes and public events across institutional and artist-led contexts. His curatorial experience includes producing exhibitions and public programmes with 126 Artist-Run Gallery, Galway Arts Centre and Outset Gallery.
McLean is the founder of Satellite Projects, an artist-led initiative supporting accessible studio provision, exhibitions and professional development opportunities. He is also co-founder and director of Outset Gallery, which he established in 2022. As a practising artist, his curatorial work is informed by a strong understanding of artists’ needs and focuses on creating ambitious, accessible and sustainable platforms for contemporary visual art.
