An armada of raft-like sculptures and swaying limbs glide through the Townhall Art Centre Gallery. Floating raft-like islands are surrounded by angular, tree-like sculptures that sway overhead and reach towards the ceiling. These are accompanied by etchings and individual cast-tin relics.
Drawing, research and observation are at the core of the working methods behind this exhibition. Just as the practical process involves cutting, shaping, refitting, chopping and changing, so too does the research that informs the sculptures, etchings and casts.

“SEANSCÉALTA, GUTHANNA BEO, What Still Lives Here” is solo exhibition by Justine G. Cappelli exploring Irish mythology as living material, continually retold, reinterpreted and reshaped.

The exhibition brings together watercolour and metallic leaf paintings inspired by the Mythological, Ulster and Fenian Cycles, alongside real testimonies about what Irish mythology means to people today, through identity, belonging, memory, migration and personal experience.

Opening at the Garage Theatre, Monaghan, on 2 September at 6.30pm, with an opening talk by Dr Lauren Cassidy at 7pm. The exhibition runs until 30 November 2026.

SHIFT Reflections of unknowing. Paintings by Patrick Conyngham

The paintings are in the hidden language of change and its numerous manifestations and
are an assimilation of that process in all its mystery. Sometimes the sources are known,
sometimes they are not, but either way they become part of the painting. They are a visual
diary with markers or indicators that occur naturally working with a mix of intention and
intuition. Colour is used to heighten sensation and with the aim of a raw dynamic, they come
into being sequentially and organically. They are an interpretative filtering of the world and
universe around us.

Exhibition runs 03/10/26-14/11/26.

A century after American artist Rockwell Kent lived and painted in the remote valley of Glenlough, Donegal artist Kevin Lowery returns to this landscape in Land’s End – An Artist’s Journey to Glenlough 100 Years After Rockwell Kent. Developed over three years, the exhibition brings together 19 paintings shaped by repeated journeys, long days working outdoors, and the changing Atlantic weather.
