The Regional Cultural centre is pleased to present Gvozdene Kapije / The Iron Gates, an exhibition by artist Barbara Knežević, bringing together film and sculpture to explore the histories, stories, and materiality of a region in eastern Serbia. Known as Gvozdene Kapije, this  deep gorge at Đerdap on the Danube River forms the border between Serbia and Romania and is an area that has been contested, occupied and celebrated throughout ancient and recent history

In Ga (Radius), Donegal-based artist Sinéad Walsh explores the ways in which a sense of place is formed through memory, folklore, language and encounters with the natural world. Rooted in the coastal landscape of Donegal, the exhibition brings together sculpture, found objects, drawing and mixed-media. Recycled and natural materials are transformed, reinterpreted and given new possibilities. Ordinary things become curious objects; fragments suggest stories; familiar forms shift into something less certain. Sinéad is drawn to states of transition: the point where land meets water, waking meets sleep, and the everyday becomes strange.

Yulia Gasio is a Ukrainian-born artist from Luhansk, now based in California, whose practice explores landscape, displacement, contested borders, and cultural memory. During her residency at Artlink in summer 2026, she developed this series of intimate gouache paintings responding to the landscape of Inishowen and its histories of defence, migration and occupation. Yulia is an Assistant Professor of Art at California State University, Long Beach and a PhD candidate at UCLA. Her work draws connections between places shaped by histories of conflict and transformation.

“SEANSCÉALTA, GUTHANNA BEO, What Still Lives Here” is solo exhibition by Justine G. Cappelli exploring Irish mythology as living material, continually retold, reinterpreted and reshaped.

The exhibition brings together watercolour and metallic leaf paintings inspired by the Mythological, Ulster and Fenian Cycles, alongside real testimonies about what Irish mythology means to people today, through identity, belonging, memory, migration and personal experience.

Opening at the Garage Theatre, Monaghan, on 2 September at 6.30pm, with an opening talk by Dr Lauren Cassidy at 7pm. The exhibition runs until 30 November 2026.

A Sculpture and Print Exhibition by Ben Reilly.

An armada of raft-like sculptures and swaying limbs glide through the Townhall Art Centre Gallery. Floating raft-like islands are surrounded by angular, tree-like sculptures that sway overhead and reach towards the ceiling. These are accompanied by etchings and individual cast-tin relics.
Drawing, research and observation are at the core of the working methods behind this exhibition. Just as the practical process involves cutting, shaping, refitting, chopping and changing, so too does the research that informs the sculptures, etchings and casts.
