As part of EASA 2026, Italian architects Agostino Omini and Anna Setti will present the workshop An Taoille Tuile – High Tide, exploring the relationship between seaweed, coastal traditions, and contemporary ecological challenges. The event is supported by the Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin and moderated by curator Cristina Ciampaglione.

The event will offer the public the opportunity to gain insight into the architects’ research and design practice through a conversation exploring the origins of their work, their connection to coastal landscapes—with particular attention to Waterford and Ireland—and future perspectives on the protection of marine ecosystems. The projects developed during the workshop will also be on display.

All My Dreams Take Place in Heaven is a solo exhibition of fifteen new photographic works by Irish visual artist Jennifer Reynolds.
Working through composite photography, Reynolds explores the space where imagination and dreams originate. Drawing inspiration from forests, mountains, flowers, and the natural world, the exhibition considers the subconscious as a realm of possibility, where images, memories, and visions emerge before taking shape.
The works create dreamlike landscapes that exist between observation and imagination, inviting viewers into a contemplative space where the familiar becomes strange and the unseen becomes momentarily visible.

Peer’ weaves together key aspects of Amanda Jane Graham’s life: visual art, sociology, and her twenty-four years as a hairstylist. Graham applies sociological analysis to her experiences and investigates the intertwined histories of art and hairdressing. She presents her findings through distinctive, detailed artworks.

Pallas Projects/Studios presents OUTLET, as the name suggests OUTLET is an exhibition and yard party offering activities as a means of escape situated within a 2 week exhibition. OUTLET is hosted and presented by Pallas Projects/Studios staff, combining skills from their careers as Arts Workers, Artists and DJs.

Taking its title from both the idea of an emotional or creative outlet and the electrical outlet as a point of connection and activation, the exhibition and surrounding events explore the ways people seek release, recharge and community within the conditions of contemporary working life.

Diana Chambers has been a practising artist at KCAT Arts Centre since its inception 26 years ago. She maintains a prolific practice, working with immediacy, rhythm and an intuitive engagement through the medium of paint.
Curated by Kate Strain, this exhibition brings together work that reflects Chambers’ expansive approach to artistic production. An artist’s book documenting Chambers’ practice will be launched in conjunction with the opening on Thursday the 6th August 2026 at 3pm. Bridge Street Studios celebrates 30th Anniversary with ‘The Things That Matter Most are the Things that can’t be Seen’.

Nestled in a historic 250-year-old grain store, Bridge Street Studios has been a nurturing ground for both emerging and established artists for 30 years. As one of the oldest and largest independent artistic collectives in Ireland, the Studios have been an integral part of the town’s creative fabric since their formation in 1996.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is delighted to present Lifework, an exhibition of artworks by seven artists who work at the Kilkenny Collective for Arts Talent (KCAT) Studio. The exhibition opens at the Municipal Gallery, dlr Lexicon in Dún Laoghaire on Saturday 9 May and runs until Wednesday 26 August 2026. Admission is free.
The artists featured are Thomas Barron, Declan Byrne, Lorna Corrigan, Sinéad Fahey, Fergus Fitzgerald, Andrew Pike, Jason Turner. Lifework presents examples of each artist’s earliest artwork beside examples of recent artwork.

IMMA Collection: Art as Agency is a major three-year display celebrating IMMA’s Permanent Collection as a source of agency and knowledge. Featuring over 100 artists, from the 1960s to the present, it highlights key works, including many recent acquisitions. This ambitious exhibition invites engagement and research over time, allowing for a rich durational experience of Ireland’s Modern and Contemporary Art Collection.

Through thematic, chronological, geographical, and media-based approaches, the exhibition examines how artworks connect across time and contexts, fostering new interpretations and relevance. Works from the 1960s to the 1980s evoke the foundational story of the Irish art world. While acknowledging the context of the modernist, predominantly male dominance of that era, the exhibition also spotlights the material innovation and socially engaged practices of others who persisted despite the relatively conservative status quo.

The exhibition also presents more recent practice that explores urgent global themes such as gender, hybridity, cultural histories, de-colonialism, diaspora, migration, food injustice, climate, and ecological change. Memory, imagination, and storytelling play pivotal roles in these works, offering generative ways to process fragmentation, dislocation, and survival in unfamiliar spaces. New and existing works in the IMMA grounds will extend these themes.

The exhibition includes a specially created ‘white cube’ gallery space inspired by Brian O’Doherty’s renowned series of essays Inside the White Cube – The Ideology of the Gallery Space (1976), that critiques the auratic, market-driven effects of the white cube gallery format. Likewise the choice of works curated for this space pushes back by highlighting works by Post-War American women, pioneering conceptualist artworks by Marcel Duchamp and Brian O’Doherty as well as a contemporary feminist response by Andrea Geyer.

By interweaving historical and contemporary narratives, Art as Agency invites audiences to reflect on the evolving meanings and possibilities of art in shaping our understanding of and action in the world.

Drawing Light, a unique exhibition of newly hand woven tapestries made in response to the ancient monuments of Newgrange, Knowth, Dowth and Four Knocks will hang in Brú na Bóinne visitor centre from May 30 until August 30 2026.
The collected works of Contemporary Tapestry Artists Ireland, nine of the group’s weavers each brings a distinct voice to this exhibition, united by a deep engagement with the core elements of tapestry weaving – time, material, technique, colour, pattern, surface, and narrative.

Alison Barry is an artist working from her home in Limerick. Her current use of soft pastel, charcoal and oils allow a sense of freedom to my expression as an artist. Being self-taught she is constantly learning and developing her style which has been described as contemporary in its feel, emotive, moody and atmospheric.
‘Capturing the antics and character of Irish wildlife, ‘A storytelling’ is a new collection of mixed media work to include rooks, hares and foxes..

Draíocht is delighted to announce Colourings by Lucy Hill, curated by Helen O’Donoghue, a Draíocht Children’s Commission, part of a series of initiatives to mark Draíocht’s 25th birthday.

Colourings centres on the artist’s own abstract colourings, which she has reimagined through collaboration with fashion designer Orla Langan and sound designer Adam Kennedy.

Colourings celebrates scribbling as a practice of becoming, where colours, shapes, textures and lines merge with sound, touch and movement, emphasising how the experience of colouring can nurture empathy, curiosity and collective imagination.

Liz Johnson’s art practice is project-based. Her recent work explores themes of transience and impermanence, and presence and memory. 

In this series of landscape paintings, she approaches presence and memory from the periphery, as a space of fragility and quiet tension. Where boundaries soften and shift, and form is suggested rather than fixed. She revisits familiar landscapes to reflect on the subtle unease of being tethered to places that are continually in flux – echoing Seamus Heaney’s ‘Postscript’, where the landscape leaves one being “neither here nor there”.  

This sense of being suspended in a moment that can’t be held reflects the Buddhist concept of impermanence, and of how all things arise and pass away. In these moments, the landscape becomes both presence and disappearance. Within these settings, memory exists as something both hidden and tangible — traces of what has been, are held quietly within.  

A Sense of Place invites a moment of stillness and contemplation, to consider how places continue to shape us even as they change or disappear. Rather than resisting transformation, this work reflects on what it means to live alongside it; to accept change and the passing of time as fundamental parts of human experience. 

‘Urban Landscapes’ is a body of work created without boundaries or fixed rules, embracing creative freedom and open interpretation. Fluid, expressive, and imaginative, it explores colour, texture, and design as a means of navigating and escaping the realities and challenges of the contemporary world. The exhibition reflects Fiona O’Brien’s experience as a long-time Ballymun resident, documenting and responding to the constant construction, transformation, and evolution of the environment around her. Influenced by urban living, music, nature, weather, culture, diversity, architecture, developing spaces, and punk aesthetics.

Field Station: Cornafulla by Amanda Ralph is centered on Cornafulla Bog and the Shannon Callows. The exhibition brings the visible landscape into tension with what it contains: shifting ecological conditions, field records, measurement, and material evidence. Through moving image, sound and sculpture, Ralph re-encounters the farm landscape without resolving it into a single authoritative image. This exhibition has been developed with support from the Accenture Digital Innovation in Art Bursary, awarded through Business to Arts. Supported by Accenture.

States, Stations by Samir Mahmood draws on key concepts from Sufi mysticism to explore themes of identity, transformation, and queer experience. The Douglas Hyde is delighted to present the first solo exhibition in Ireland by Libyan artist Nour Jaouda. Jaouda’s multi-layered textile works traverse the languages of painting, sculpture and installation to produce ‘landscapes of memory’. The forms, colours and motifs within her intricately textured surfaces gesture towards different encounters across time and space, drawing on the artist’s childhood in Libya and experiences of living between Cairo and London.
For this instalment of The Artist’s Eye, Jaouda has invited Tamara Kalo to exhibit in Gallery 2.

In 2024, Rua Red Director/Curator Maolíosa Boyle invited Orla Barry to create a new work in response to the rural communities of South Dublin. In this work, Barry uses the farm walk as a method of research and a form of encounter. The commission reflects on the complexities of rural life at the edge of the city, exploring how landscape is shaped by inheritance, lineage, survival, friendship, economic pressure and the stories that pass between people.

The Collie, The Cheviot and The Crouched Skeleton launches on Friday 10 July at 6pm and continues until 26 September.

Reflecting her experiences growing up in Barcelona and living in Ireland for over twenty years, Vanessa Donoso López’s practice explores identity, migration, and cultural behaviours shaped by relocation.

Her research on ‘transitional phenomena’ refers to the developmental space between internal and external reality, where creativity and culture take form, and identities and relationships are negotiated through objects, gestures, and shared practices. She uses primordial and attainable materials like clay, soil and stones to examine how traditions, language and values adapt across cultures over time.

The exhibition Ar an Imeall – On the Edge is a bilingual project which explores and documents a large selection of Ireland’s offshore islands.

Having researched the history, landscape, demographics, and topography of the islands over the last few years, the artist has painted them, as seen from the mainland, trying to capture their essence. Almost 60 islands are investigated, mainly those that are or were once inhabited and, except for Achill, are not connected to the mainland by a bridge. The project seeks to record, celebrate, respect and remember the individual world that each island is and was to those that lived and still live on it.

PORTAGE brings together paintings, sculptural forms, ceramic vessels, and sculptural light to explore journeys shaped by wind, water and myth. Featuring artists Aibhainn Wheeler, Andrew Murphy, Gildas O Laoire and Mark Redden.
The title refers to the act of carrying a boat across land to reach new waters — an enduring image of migration, resilience, and the search for new horizons. It echoes Werner Herzog’s film ‘Fitzcarraldo’, where a steamship is hauled over a mountain in pursuit of an impossible dream. In PORTAGE, that same gesture becomes a metaphor for movement, risk, and for the persistence required to cross from one world to another.

Irish abstract figurative artist Ana Carey will open GASP, her new exhibition at Ana Carey Gallery, located above The International Bar, 23 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, on Saturday, 1 August 2026.

Opening with a reception from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., GASP will present approximately 18 to 20 works by Carey, combining new and current pieces with a small selection of earlier work. The exhibition will also feature selected works by guest artists Aran Devereux and Stephen Cheung, each bringing additional perspectives to the presentation.

The exhibition follows a significant year for Carey, including her selection for the 165th Annual Exhibition of the Society of Women Artists 2026 at Mall Galleries, Westminster, London, one of the UK’s longest-running exhibitions dedicated to women in visual art.

In another recent milestone, Carey’s painting Boss sold for €20,000 at a black-tie charity auction held at the House of Lords, with proceeds donated to Vision Ireland.

GASP continues Carey’s commitment to making contemporary fine art more accessible by placing it within a lively cultural setting. Located above The International Bar, one of Dublin’s best-known venues for comedy, theatre, live music and performance, Ana Carey Gallery reflects the artist’s vision of creating a welcoming and connected arts community in the heart of Dublin.

“GASP is about the moment between fear and visibility,” says Carey. “If you don’t reveal yourself, you can be forgotten. For me, putting the work out there, even when it feels frightening, is part of being an artist. I like short, simple, snappy titles, and I hope GASP captures the audience’s reaction to the show.”

Visitors will be able to view and purchase works on the day.

‘Some paintings of young women do not depict individuals, they are amalgams drawn from found images, their unsmiling looks atmospherically unsettling alongside brightly coloured blooms. Browne describes them as portraits of female energy and their nearly-always-direct gaze is unerring.

Diana Chambers has been a practising artist at KCAT Arts Centre since its inception 26 years ago. She maintains a prolific practice, working with immediacy, rhythm and an intuitive engagement through the medium of paint.
Curated by Kate Strain, this exhibition brings together work that reflects Chambers’ expansive approach to artistic production. An artist’s book documenting Chambers’ practice will be launched in conjunction with the opening on Thursday the 6th August 2026 at 3pm. Painting demonstrations by Diana will take place during the exhibition; more details to be announced @kcat.ie.

Scale Up is a group exhibition of contemporary printmaking curated by Ann Kenny. The exhibition brings together artists working at scale within contemporary print traditions, placing large-format prints in dialogue with smaller works.
Featuring Gwen O’Dowd, Vincent Sheridan, Ailbhe Barrett, Linda Uhlemann, Ann Kavanagh, Aoife Dwyer and Sioban Piercy.

Wexford Arts Centre in partnership with the Ormston House, is pleased to present Memory of a Free Festival. The exhibition will run in the lower and upper galleries from Saturday, 8 August, to Saturday, 3 October, 2026.

Conceived by Ormston House, the project responds to the Carnsore Point anti-nuclear festivals that took place in Wexford between 1978 and 1981. Organised by a coalition of groups, the festivals were attended by thousands of people. Featuring works by Orla Barry, Brian Duggan and Alanna O’Kelly, the exhibition also includes photos by Derek Speirs and original archival material produced by the Irish Anti-Nuclear Movement.

Butler Gallery, in association with Kilkenny Arts Festival, is delighted to present a building- wide exhibition honouring the work of the late Tony O’Malley (1913-2003) and Jane O’Malley (1944-2023). This expansive exhibition marks the receipt of the bequest of both artists’ estates by Jane O’Malley to Butler Gallery where the artists had a long association.
