Dr. Fiona Byrne | Independent

Dr Fiona Byrne is an artist, researcher and project producer working across contemporary art, craft, education and socially engaged practice. Her work focuses on developing exhibitions and collaborative cultural projects that explore materiality, place, and embodiment. She has delivered projects in museums, galleries and unconventional spaces in Ireland and internationally, most recently the Glowing Glacier Festival in Iceland. Touring shows include HOME, produced with the Hunt Museum, the Traveller community in Limerick City and artist Roisín de Buitléar. Fiona previously worked with Design & Crafts Council Ireland overseeing the education programme for the National Design & Craft Gallery. She holds a PhD in visitor research from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. She contributes to evaluation and audience development for arts and cultural programmes, including Disrupt Disability Arts Festival and Divergently Together which both reflect her contribution to greater access in the arts.
