Gallery Director John Daly has more than 30 years’ experience as a Visual Arts Writer, Consultant and Curator. He is the current Chair of the Contemporary Art Gallery Association (CAGA).
John has contributed to numerous publications and seminars and his advice is regularly sought by institutions, private collections and auction houses. His monograph Karl Weschke: Painting order out of chaos was published in 2025 to mark the artist’s centenary and has been recently translated into German to accompany the major retrospective of Weschke’s work at Stadtmuseum Gera.
Hillsboro Fine Art has hosted first solo exhibitions in Ireland by many renowned international artists including Jannis Kounellis, Larry Poons, Gillian Ayres, Anthony Caro, Enzo Cucchi, Sandro Chia, Alex Katz, Markus Lüpertz, Robert Motherwell and others. Though the gallery continues to develop its international links, its principal focus is on promoting Irish artists represented by the gallery; these include Cecilia Bullo, Vivienne Dick, Eithne Jordan, Orla Whelan, Kevin Mooney, Patrick Graham, John Noel Smith, Gwen O’Dowd, Eddie Kennedy, Eamon O’Kane, John Gibbons, Patrick Hall.
