The mythical island of Hy-Brasil lies hidden somewhere off the West coast of Ireland. But, for one day every seven years, Hy-Brasil reveals itself. These photographs were taken
on that day, on the shores of an island that does not exist.
Made with a hand-made glass pinhole camera, the images in Isle of the Blest depict an Irish
landscape laden with time, mythology, and power.
photography. The final images, also printed on glass panels, sit unobtrusively on the wall, only
revealing themselves when one leans in and looks through the fog.
