“Raise Your Spear is about voices, and making visible in the public domain something often a private fight, borne in silence.” – Dani Gill, Artist.

Raise Your Spear is a poem from Dani Gill’s second collection Lessons in Kindness (Salmon Poetry, April 2023), exploring LGBTQ experiences in Ireland, both personal and public.

Dani created a bespoke workshop series (2025/26) exploring identity, community, and advocacy. Participants customised spears, now exhibited in Droichead’s gallery this May with reflections.
