Talk | Patrick Bresnihan in Conversation with Martina O’Brien at Maynooth University

Event Details

Join Associate Professor Patrick Bresnihan & Martina O’Brien to discuss themes arising from heav(Y) b(La)ck stone, exhibition, a trilogy of film installations presented throughout Maynooth University in 20ft shipping containers, each converted into a wind-and-solar powered miniature cinema. Situated in the University’s North Campus, the artworks collectively explore the hidden infrastructure that undergirds the green transition through the lens of rare earth metals. By tracing the material presence of Yttrium(Y), Erbium(Er), and other REE’s, the work considers the global interdependencies and the paradoxes of extraction.
