Seeking Funding
VAI don’t manage any funding streams, we can however point you in the direction of funding bodies that you should look into. There are many types of funding streams available to artists from the Arts Council, local authorities and other sources.
If you make contact with your local Arts Officer you may be able avail of Arts Grant funding or other supports through your local authority. Ask about upcoming Creative Ireland funding schemes and if any support may be available through Creative Ireland specifically. Where are you based and we will be able to find contact details for your local Arts Officer?
Many artists will apply for bursaries from the Arts Council or local authority and use some of this to pay for their studio or equipment. Bursary funding is intended to allow the artist to “buy time” to produce work, this includes contributing to materials and studio costs. A full list of available funding from the Arts Council can be viewed here: https://www.artscouncil.ie/available-funding/
We advertise all funding and award opportunities for artists on our website – see https://visualartists.ie/funding-and-awards/
Design & Crafts Council have useful information on their website about setting up a business that might come in useful:
