Event | Garth Gratrix / Dip in the Pool Opening and Artist Talk at Mermaid Arts Centre

Event Details

Dip in the Pool is Garth Gratrix’s first major solo exhibition in Ireland. A sun-lounger of a show that looks, from a distance, like a holiday.

Get closer, and it’s something else entirely: spinning plates, custom beach towels, suspended colour, cruising-app intimacy, grief, inheritance, fridge magnets and a very particular colour palette, all arranged according to rules that never quite resolve.

Gratrix (b. 1984, Blackpool, UK) treats the gallery as a kind of free cruising ground and a space to rest, reinvent and reconsider. Join us for the opening of this seductive exhibition with an introductory talk from the artist.
