What Persists | Chris Falconer at Imagine Arts Festival

Event Details

What Persists is a suite of tape-based compositions by Chris Falconer (Waiting Space) Imagine Arts Festival’s Commissioned Artist for 2026, marking its 25th anniversary. Responding to the 2026 festival theme of In Memories We Grow, the work explores memory, repetition, persistence and impermanence through piano, synthesizers, environmental recordings and voices from the festival’s past. Drawing on tape’s relationship with archiving, the compositions consider how memories are retained, revisited and changed over time, with unexpected details sometimes lost, distorted or enriched. The suite also soundtracks Kateo’s Growing an Archive exhibition
