Arts Council: ‘New Strategy for the Arts in 2015’
At its November plenary meeting, the Arts Council agreed a process to develop its new strategy for the arts in 2015. The move follows the publication of Inspiring Prospects, the Arts Council’s strategic review, which was presented to the June plenary meeting. The Council said it would begin this process over the coming weeks.
Also at the November plenary meeting, and in response to feedback from artists and arts organisations as well some of the proposals in Inspiring Prospects, the Arts Council resolved to develop a new funding framework and assessment system for 2016/17, linked to the new strategy. The new system is intended to be more transparent, and is aimed at achieving better outcomes for Arts Council funding and development initiatives.
The Council also welcomed the presentation of insights from the recent qualitative group research, conducted by Pathfinder on its behalf, which will be presented in Galway and Dublin later this month.
