Irish Recipient of HIAP/TBG+S Residency Exchange 2016 Announced

anne-maree-barryTemple Bar gallery and Studios announces Irish artist Anne Maree Barry as the recipient of 2016 HIAP (Helsinki International Artist Programme) Residency. In April and May this year, Anne Maree Barry will spend six weeks at the HIAP residency facility on the Island of Suomenlinna, just outside the city of Helsinki, and will develop a new film project. The selected Finnish Artist (TBA) will spend July and August working from a studio at TBGandS in Dublin.

Temple Bar Gallery and Studios and HIAP (Helsinki International Artist Programme) are now entering their tenth year of partnership. Since the partnership began in 2007, TBG+S and HIAP have supported a total of 17 artists and curators from Ireland and Finland to undertake new creative work in the cities of Dublin and Helsinki through the exchange programme. Now a well-established opportunity, the TBG+S and HIAP exchange fosters opportunities for Irish artists to gain experience, build networks internationally and engage in an interdisciplinary dialogue with the HIAP community.
